Reasons Why We Love to Drive Across America (Part 2)

Brian's work takes us away from our families.  Brian hasn't lived close to his family since 1984.  I have not lived close to my family since Brian and I left Washington to go to Okinawa in 1996.

So, every time we move, we make it a point to see our families and driving across the country allows us to visit as many families as we can.  Because we only see them every 2-3 years, we treasure these moments even though they're short.

In Seattle, we spent time with my familyand even got to see cousins that we haven't seen in a long time at DJ's graduation party!  It was nice to get together, give hugs, eat, laugh and be merry!

Timing was everything in Arizona!  We passed through Brian's Dad's just in time for Father's Day and feasted at Claim Jumpers!  In Concho, we enjoyed some high dessert time with grandparents, cousins, and aunties.

Now that we're in the same continent as everyone else, we do hope to see our families more frequently than every 2-3 years.
