Rockin' the Mic, Once Again (and the guitar. and the harmonica...)

Our all time favorite singer--Niko!  Last week, he rocked the mic once again at his school's talent show, Britt's Got Talent!  Niko entered in three different acts, two acts with his friends and one solo.  I have to make a mention of the week leading up to this.  Niko was getting sinus headaches which then led to scruffy-feeling throat!  We were all on pins and needles, and lots of praying that he will be okay for this show.  He pulled it off!

This is RED CROSSING performing Graceland, featuring Christian on guitar,

Shay bangin' on the drums,

and Niko on vocals, and guitar.

They were the first act.  I don't think they were able to do sound checks before the show, because the mic WAS NOT working!  It was a bummer -- you couldn't hear Niko's voice at all.  They've worked so hard practicing and it was definitely apparent!  They sounded awesome with or without vocals.  Most importantly, the guys had fun performing!

Niko's second act was with his friends from Legato--Ian, Austin, Nick, Alex, and Dillon, THE HEARTBREAK KIDS.  Niko played guitar while everyone sang Hallelujah and mightily they did!  That song is still swimming in my head!

Lastly, Niko performed a song that he's been working on for awhile called Harder Everyday.  He wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and played his harmonica and guitar.  You know I'm not the bragging type, but he was so COOL!

There was a part in this act where his tempo started to speed up.  The performer that he is, to cover up his mistake, he caused a distraction by getting up off his chair and kicking it behind him!  It got the audience going and cheered for him.  Little did they know (including Brian and I) that, that was just a diversion and not part of the act!  He's CRAZY!

In the end, all of Niko's and his friends' hard work paid off!  

The Heartbreak Kids won 2nd place for Hallelujah,

and taking first place was Niko for his performance of Harder Everyday!!!  We're so proud of the BooBoo!  He did very well!!!
